Jack Johnson is waxing up the boards again. The multi platinum troubadour announced his “SURFILMUSIC North American 2026 Tour,” a sprawling 43-date run that marks his first full return to the road since 2022. Presale tickets are available now!
To set the tone for this next chapter, Johnson released a brand new single, “Hold On To The Light,” featuring the atmospheric guitar duo Hermanos Gutiérrez. The track teases the upcoming SURFILMUSIC soundtrack, scored by Johnson and the brothers as part of a newly announced documentary arriving next year.
The documentary, also titled “SURFILMUSIC,” traces Johnson’s path from young surfer with a camera to globally beloved songwriter. It revisits the making of his foundational surf films Thicker Than Water (1999) and The September Sessions (2000), whose soundtracks quietly ignited his music career. The new film brings back the original crew of wave chasing heavyweights such as Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, and the Malloy Brothers, weaving the easy camaraderie and ocean-soaked creativity that have shaped Johnson’s life and activism. A first trailer is already streaming.
In the studio, Johnson reunited with longtime collaborator and production legend Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys, Beck), whose fingerprints are on several of Johnson’s most celebrated albums. Hermanos Gutiérrez not only contributed to the score but will join the summer and fall tour as openers alongside Lake Street Dive and G. Love on select dates.
The tour itself reads like a love letter to North America’s open-air stages: Fiddler’s Green, The Gorge, Edgefield, Santa Barbara Bowl, The Greek Theatre, and a two-night finale at the Hollywood Bowl among them. Full dates and support breakdowns are listed below.
True to form, Johnson is centering sustainability at every stop. Teaming with REVERB, the tour expands on his long running efforts to shrink environmental impact, showcase local nonprofits, and get fans involved through the Village Green. A portion of every ticket will support environmental projects chosen by REVERB and the All At Once network, and proceeds from premium tickets will benefit community organizations via the Johnson ?Ohana Foundation.
Fans can register and access presale information at jackjohnsonmusic.com, with general on sale set for Friday, November 14 at 10 a.m. local time
