A big lucky night with Peter McPoland

From posting videos on TikTok to signing with Columbia Records, Peter McPoland has gone on multiple tours over the years, including opening for Twenty One Pilots on “The Icy Tour,” so I was ecstatic to catch him this time around!

I’ve been listening to Peter for about four years now and have heard so many good things about his live performances, so I went into the night with high expectations. The crowd quickly filled out, and by the time the clock hit eight, the lights dimmed and the night began.

McPoland knows how to pick an opening act. Rapper Black Salt has been opening the shows on this leg of the “Big Lucky Tour,” and this was easily the best opening act I’ve seen all year! Before this show, I had never heard of him, but shortly after he got off stage, I saved quite a few of his songs. Be sure to check out his music if you haven’t already!

Peter took the stage at 9:00 p.m. sharp. With a setlist ranging from old favorites to new releases, the crowd was singing every word. The barricade was lined with fans who had been following him for the past few weeks on tour, and seeing their passion and commitment was one of my favorite parts of the show.

My favorite moment of the night was when he played “Digital Silence” off his album PIGGY. The entire room was jumping up and down, screaming every word, which seemed to be a common theme throughout the night. He ended the show on a slower note with “Last Looks,” one of the singles released in promotion of Big Lucky.

Although I went into the show a pretty big fan, I came out an even bigger one. His dedication and passion really shone throughout the entire performance, and he’s one of those artists you can just tell truly loves what he does.

If you haven’t had the chance to see Peter McPoland live yet, be sure to catch him next year on the second leg of the “Big Lucky Tour.” Visit https://www.petermcpoland.com/tour to purchase tickets.
