THE CONCERT CHRONICLES ISSUE #6: BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT, HOT MULLIGAN, CALVA LOUISE, FREE FRIENDS AND MORE

THE CONCERT CHRONICLES E-ZINE ISSUE #6: COMPLETELY FREE AND ACCESSIBLE TO READ HERE

Welcome to our sixth issue of The Concert Chronicles! As summer fades and the air shifts, we’re closing out our monthly run with one last spectacular installment before easing into a bi-monthly rhythm again. But make no mistake – we’re not slowing down. November’s issue is already bursting at the seams with stories, voices, and music we can’t wait to share, and prepare for the return of our printed edition as we bring the e-zine project to physical form.

This month, we’re especially proud of what we’ve put together. We brought in fresh contributors whose perspectives added depth, and we landed a cover story with a band that has long lived on our personal playlists: Beauty School Dropout. Their latest record, WHERE DID ALL THE BUTTERFLIES GO?, is destined to be one of our year-end standouts, an album that’s been on repeat in our office and in our headphones. Sitting down with the band, peeling back the layers of these songs, and then witnessing a few selects explode on stage at their intimate New York City showcase solidified the momentum the band is moving forward with, and we cannot wait to see where it takes them next. This fall, they’re taking those tracks out on the road for the very first time, and trust us, you’ll want to be in the room.

Alongside our cover story, this issue also features interviews with Jamaican hitmaker Marcelle Chérie, the pop-punk trio Free Friends, rising indie stars Stella Starfox, Connecticut dream-poppers Sunday Morning, the always-eclectic Calva Louise, and New Jersey shapeshifter BVDMIND. We also dove deep into Hot Mulligan’s new album, unpacked why DIY spaces and openers matter more than ever, and even paired one of our op-eds with a mini documentary.

September offers a collection of work we’re incredibly excited to share, so dive in below! Until November, we hope you sink into this issue the way we did while creating it.

A massive thank you to the team that made this issue possibe:
