Young the Giant—Sameer Gadhia, Jacob Tilley, Eric Cannata, Francois Comtois, and Payam Doostzadeh—formed in 2004. Managed by United Talent Agency and Activist Artists Management, the multi-platinum band recently released the acoustic EP In The Open Volume One, featuring stripped-down fan favorites and the new song “Bitter Fruit.”
“’In The Open’ has been our superpower as a band since we started playing music together. There’s something so thrilling about reimagining our music in a way that’s more improvised, less controlled, and in a place you wouldn’t expect. We’re hoping to bring this feeling to you in our new tour, Young the Giant: In The Open. While we can’t play a full set for you under a bridge or on a cliffside, we hope these beautiful, intimate venues will give you the same feeling.” – Young The Giant.
The EP is available to stream on all major streaming platforms, with the album also available for purchase on Apple Music or through the band’s official merchandise store.
Alongside the EP, Young the Giant announced the “In The Open Tour,” an intimate concert series held in striking venues nationwide. The tour features Cassandra Coleman, whose debut album is being produced by Jack Antonoff, as support. The “In The Open VIP Soundcheck Experience” includes access to the band’s rehearsal, unreleased tracks, rare cuts, spontaneous stories, and more. Throughout the tour, Young the Giant partners with REVERB to promote sustainability, energize fans to take climate action, and support the Music Decarbonization Project’s innovative solutions for reducing carbon emissions in the music industry at their source.

Writer’s note: as a nod to Young The Giant’s climate actions and activism, I want to recognize the importance of doing this… Especially during these times. Since 1990, greenhouse gas emissions has risen 51%, a rate that has more than trippled since 1982. It has been projected that by 2100, these effects will lead to severe negative consequences for ecosystems and human well-being, even with current efforts. Sources encourage scalable solutions for change, noting that collaboration is key in making an impact, and Young The Giant are notably leveraging the strength of the music community to bring awareness.
