Dance Gavin Dance takes us back to 2005 with the nostalgic new single “Trap Door!” It’s been a few years since the band released an album – their last album was Jackpot Juicer, which made fans go nuts. But as fans know, it takes time to create a masterpiece, just like their brand new masterpiece. On September 12, they will release their upcoming record, Pantheon.
Let’s dive into the “Trap Door.” Personally, it feels like older Dance Gavin Dance, but with a modern twist to it. The beginning comes with a strong kick, slows the mellow tone, and returns to that strong energy surge. Dance Gavin Dance has also released a music video to the song “Trap Door.” The music video shows clips from behind the scenes, fans standing in line, the band on stage, and even the guys just being silly, which I love seeing from bands, especially this far along in their career.
“Pantheon” will be released on September 12. Now, what does this album come with? Well, it comes with their new single “Trap Door,” “All the Way Down,” “Midnight at McGuffys,” and more. I’m looking forward to sitting down and listening to the rest of the album when it comes out!
Dance Gavin Dance has been around since 2005. In the times when you turned on the TV, it seemed like MTV was on everyone’s programming, and the band was just beginning their journey. Oh, good times. In 2006, they came out with two EPs: Demo and Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean, quickly catching people’s attention with the unique alternative blend. They won people’s hearts with their most popular song “We Own the Night.”
Fast forward to today, where Andrew Wells kills the crowd with his multitasking skills of bringing the power from his voice and guitar, Jon Mess bringing the highs and lows to the stage through his vocals, Will Swan electrifying the crowd with his killer shreds, and, last but not least, Matthew Mingus almost near breaking his drums to convey the passion of the music.
