After a sold-out U.K. leg of his “Back on You” tour, Djo releases a soft and sensual cover of Haim’s “Gasoline” from Triple J’s “Like A Version.” He first performed the cover live at his surprise show in January at the iconic Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York. During his global tour, Djo stopped by Australia’s Triple J for a “Like A Version” session, and now you can listen to the cover here, or watch the performance below.
Djo’s new album The Crux is out now. This third studio album is co-produced by longtime friends and colleagues Joe Keery and Adam Thein. The new record shifts from his previous two, which were marked by smoke-filled synths and surreal lyricism, to a more nostalgic 60’s and 70’s pop inspired sound. The Crux tells a story that begins with heartbreak but culminates in reminding us of what is most important in life: tenacity, belief in oneself, and cherishing the love and light we have in our lives in the form of our friends and family. The album plays out like a film we’ve all seen before— warm and honey-like, with glimpses of memories we can barely see the edges of but remember the feeling of all too well.
Djo’s tour will continue as he opens for three Gracie Abrams shows next week and then returns to his beloved Chicago for Lollapalooza. Following that, he’ll kick off his “Another Bite” tour this fall with festival shows at Austin City Limits, All Things Go (NYC & DC), and Soundside Music Festival, before headlining shows across the Midwest and South. Tickets are almost completely sold-out. Get yours here before they run out!

Critical Acclaim for The Crux:
“The Crux marks the arrival of a fully formed artist who’s only just getting started” – Rolling Stone
“Djo is a long-term investment that’s already paying dividends: new album The Crux stretches its creative ambition outward, as Keery tinkers with alt-pop idiosyncrasies, makes room for moments of hushed beauty, and upends anyone pigeonholing him into one song, sound or medium.” – Billboard
“Djo colours with the whole box of crayons on this one, progressing from synthy, bedroom indie to lush, retro guitar-driven bangers.” – triple j
About Djo:
Djo is the musical project of the actor, producer, and songwriter Joe Keery, most well known for his work in hits like “Stranger Things” and “Fargo.” Keery has long-proven to be an interdisciplinary dynamo, a jack of all trades, and has been making music since he was a teenager. While studying in Chicago, he joined the psychedelic-rock band Post Animal, and in 2019 he released his debut album, Twenty Twenty. In 2022, his second album, DECIDE, made waves and received critical acclaim and recognition from the BRIT Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and iHeartRadio Music Awards. On his recent tour, Djo has partnered with PLUS1 to donate $1 per ticket to supporting various organizations that work towards equity and access for all – https://www.plus1.org/
