The four-time Grammy-award winning Latin music artist Alejandro Sanz has partnered with Colombian icon Manuel Turizo to release a music video for their collaboration “Como Sería,” from Sanz’s new album ¿Y Ahora Que?
The video is enigmatic, walking viewers through the story of two men who are fighting over the same woman while they are imprisoned. The physical walls that restrict the two rivals, played by Alejandro and Manuel, stretch into the metaphorical and express the emotional turmoil the characters are facing, pining over this woman that neither of them can have. The video is surreal and evokes feelings of obsession and frustration in the name of love as the two men continue to break rules to get to the object of their desire.
“Como Sería” transcends the genre of Latin ballads and captures that classic heart-ache vibe in a more modern arrangement. There is no doubt that Alejandro and Manuel’s voices blend together gorgeously, and this new music video reflects the poetry of their music in a synergistic medium.
This song is the first-ever collaboration between these two Latin music stars, and this music video follows the lead of the success of “El vino de tu boca,” already garnering 1.2 million views in the week since its release. Sanz is now preparing for his Mexico tour, which begins on September 3, and already has ten sold-out shows.
