Reneé Rapp is back and making noise. Today, the acclaimed singer-songwriter drops her explosive new single “Leave Me Alone,” kicking off a fearless new chapter in her career. Alongside the track comes news fans have been waiting for: her sophomore album, Bite Me, is officially set for release on August 1st via Interscope Records.
“Leave Me Alone” arrives with a wildly entertaining music video that captures the raw energy of the song. In the visual, Rapp faces off against a squad of blonde clones—what starts as a cheeky pillow fight quickly spirals into full-blown chaos. It’s campy, fierce, and thrilling—a perfect match for the track’s rebellious spirit and a bold intro to what’s next.
Hints of this new era began surfacing earlier this month when Rapp launched the mysterious BITE.ME website, teasing fans with cryptic clues and a cheeky “sign 100 NDAs” message. Since then, the internet’s been buzzing with everything from a “Bite Me” lip tattoo reveal to cameos from Paris Hilton, Charlize Theron, Monica Lewinsky, Gabby Windey, and more—all dropping hints about the album’s theme.
“Leave Me Alone” is more than just a song—it’s a declaration. It marks a shift in tone and power, encouraging fans to embrace their whole selves: the messy, the wild, the unfiltered. The Bite Me era is about owning your narrative without apology.
This marks Rapp’s first solo release since 2023, when she joined forces with Megan Thee Stallion on the infectious “Not My Fault,” part of the “Mean Girls” soundtrack (where Rapp also reprised her iconic role as Regina George). That track set streaming records for her and lit up the stage with a powerhouse performance on “Saturday Night Live.”
Earlier in 2023, Rapp released her debut studio album Snow Angel, which landed the biggest first-week debut for a female artist’s first album in the U.S. The success of Snow Angel led to her sold-out “Snow Hard Feelings Tour,” including multiple nights in New York and a headline stop at Los Angeles’s legendary Greek Theatre.
With Bite Me on the horizon, Reneé Rapp is entering a new stratosphere—and she’s doing it on her own terms.
