FINNEAS, the multiple GRAMMY® and Academy Award-winning artist, composer, and producer, has just released the official music video for his song “2001” from his well-received album For Cryin’ Out Loud! The video, directed by the talented and well-known Claudia Sulewski — who also happens to be his girlfriend — features FINNEAS yearning for his love interest, a nonchalant on-screen director played by Kate Hudson. A nod to Stanley Kubrick’s film “2001: A Space Odyssey,” the song’s title and the video’s spaceship-themed set both reflect the cinematic inspiration. Claudia Sulewski shares: “When I first started conceptualizing this music video, I knew I wanted to pay homage to “2001: A Space Odyssey,” with nods to some of the film’s most iconic set ups like the fisheye lens and the upside-down sequence, along with a few little Easter eggs from the behind-the-scenes of the film (Finneas shaking his head while traveling through space, the diorama reveal at the end).To play off Finneas’s lyrics, I wanted to mix in some light, cheeky moments between Finneas and Kate. An actor hopelessly in love with his director, who couldn’t care less and is only focused on making a great film.”

Today’s video release follows FINNEAS’ sold-out headline tour across the U.K., Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and North America, and comes on the heels of his widely praised television scoring debut for Alfonso Cuarón’s acclaimed Apple TV+ limited series “Disclaimer.”

This summer, FINNEAS and his band will return to Europe for a series of major festival appearances in London, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain, and more.
