Belmont’s New Single “In The Sky” Explores the Chaos of Growth

Chicago-based rising rock band Belmont has released their newest single, “In The Sky,” under Pure Noise Records, marking another bold step in their sound progression.

Rooted in the themes of self-confrontation and emotional struggle, “In The Sky” taps into the tension between comfort and growth. “Misery enjoys company, don’t let it become your host,” the band shares. The track reflects on how easy it is to get stuck in a low point—and how important it is to choose growth, even when it’s hard.

Belmont continues to challenge musical conventions. The band fuses progressive pop punk, metal, ambient EDM, hip hop, and hardcore, layering an experimental spirit over tight, melodic songwriting. It’s a blend that is equally aggressive and accessible, maintaining their origins while progressing.

This release follows the band’s third album, Liminal, which arrived in 2024 and was widely praised for expanding their sound. Formed in 2014 by a group of high school friends, Belmont has built a reputation for constant reinvention—from their early EP Between You & Me to 2021’s Aftermath, produced by Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, Neck Deep).

Belmont—composed of Taz Johnson (vocals), Brian Lada (drums, guitar, bass, programming), and Jason Inguagiato (guitar)—will be supporting Dance Gavin Dance on a full U.S. tour this summer.
