ADAM LYTLE RELEASES NEW SINGLE “SISTER WAVE” AHEAD OF SOPHOMORE ALBUM ALTARS
Ethereal track reflects on mortality and spiritual awakening; Album written during time in Paris
Indie rock artist Adam Lytle unveils his latest single, “Sister Wave,” a dreamlike meditation on mortality and acceptance, released ahead of his forthcoming sophomore album, Altars. Known for his poetic lyricism and spiritual introspection, Lytle continues to push thematic boundaries with this new offering: an introspective track that draws comparisons to the ethereal tones of Fleetwood Mac.
“Sister Wave” follows previous singles “Black Masses” and “Heaven,” each revealing a layered and soulful path toward Altars’ full release. On the new track, Lytle crafts vivid and haunting imagery, opening with lines like “blessed by a blood river shaman” and “looking death in the eye.” The lyricism is paired with meditative instrumentation. The result is a song that approaches the concept of death not with fear, but with reverence, grace, and understanding.
“This is not a song of sorrow,” Lytle says. “It is a song of knowing. Years ago, I read The Tibetan Book of the Dead. The idea that ‘by learning how to die, we can know how to live’ had a profound impact on me. ‘Sister Wave’ is a reflection of that concept, set within the beauty of the natural world.”
The accompanying music video is a visual collage of Lytle’s real-life travels captured in a documentary-style format that celebrates life’s quiet moments and everyday wonder. “It’s a celebration of life,” Lytle explains. “The video reflects the sense of wonder with which I try to move through the world.”
Written while living in Paris, Altars serves as a cinematic journal of Lytle’s time abroad, with each song reflecting scenes, revelations, and emotional landscapes that shaped his experience. With “Sister Wave,” he invites listeners into a world of personal mythology and universal truth.
