Breakaway Dallas 2025

“Breakaway from the bullshit”

Breakaway music festival made its way to Dallas, Texas, on April 5 and 6 with a star studded line up. From Gryiffin to Troyboi, Afrojack to Louis the Child, and the man himself, Zedd, you could not have asked for a better EDM festival.

To highlight the festival, there were multiple vendors, including End Overdose, which is a non-profit, Los Angles-based organization that works to end drug-related overdoses through education, medical intervention, and public awareness (source: endoverdose.net). This was an amazing experience to see at such a highly populated music festival where sadly a lot of overdoses do occur. I hope to see End Overdose at more festivals in the future!

Another great highlight was the silent disco. I have only ever seen these in TV or film, so it was nice to experice it in real life for once.

Some artists I really enjoyed watching were Lavern, Carlyle, Dj Mandy, Jackie Hollander, and Daniel Allen.

LAVERN:

Laurens Elshof, also known as Lavern, is a 23-year-old music producer and DJ from the Netherlands. “Electric High,” “Move Me,” and “Hold Me” are my absolute favorite songs by Lavern—they feel electric, warm, and full of life. It is evident that he is beyond passionate about music, writing, and performing.

CARLYLE:

Colton Carlyle is the most diverse DJ in Dallas, Texas. “No set is the same. No matter the crowd, he pushes the limits and caters to everyone.” (Source: @ColtonCarlyle on X)

DJ Mandy:

DJ Mandy is known for her distinctive DJ performances full of cutting-edge edits, cross-over remixes, and original tracks. I thoroughly enjoyed watching her set.

JACKIE HOLLANDER:

San Francisco based melodic house and techo producer (source: https://djmag.com)

DANIEL ALLEN:

Daniel is full of incredible energy, liveliness, and spunk when it comes to performing on stage. His set was by far the most fun on the Launch Pad Stage.

The best part of any music festival is the crowd, the people who are there from all walks of life—who come together despite their differences to enjoy a breakaway from the bullshit.

Huge shoutout goes to any police officers, first responders or interpreters who made this festival safe and secure, and fun for everyone.

And lastly, but most certainly not least, the three biggest acts of Saturday: Troyboi, Gryiffin, and Zedd!

If you are a fan of edm music, you do not want to miss Breakaway in 2026!
