Thomas Rhett wants to dance with you

For the last decade, Thomas Rhett has been a prominent name in country music. From his debut album, “It Goes Like This,” to his latest single, “About a Woman,” he has showcased his ability to bend with the times. Last night, in Las Vegas, I had the absolute joy of experiencing his show for the first time in over nine years.

What a pleasure it was!!

First and foremost, let me say, I have enjoyed Rhett for many years. When you have musical tastes as eclectic as mine, you tend to find the artist that fit more than one genre. While country may be in his blood and roots, he is no stranger to getting that crowd up and rocking along with him.

I have seen many artists be great at interacting with the crowd, though normally that comes with the cost of losing something from the performance. In this case, that was far from actuality. I have to give a lot of credit to him: throughout almost then entire concert, Rhett was signing memorabilia, taking selfies with fans’ phones, and even at one point, jumping down and taking photos with everyone. A lot of artists try to accomplish this, and very few succeed in doing it without taking away from the show some. Not only did he do this extremely well, he did it in a way that was sure to make amazing memories for loving fans.

With this show being a “psuedo residency” of sorts at Fountainebleau’s BleauLive Theater, the expectation for a longer set was there. The surprise came at just how many different songs we would be treated to, as well as the little improv sessions, and a special acoustic set to break things up a some. I personally found the little bridge section of songs through the decades to be a fun bit to connect with every age group in attendance. What did I say? His interaction with the crowd was top tier.

I could go through every song and each high moment of this incredible night, but that would keep us here far longer than any of us have the attention for.

What I do want to touch on, is a moment that I found unquestionably awe-inspiring; listening to Rhett’s performance of “Die A Happy Man” and seeing his face of pure happiness. Why was this moment so special? Ask the man on stage, seeing an entire venue singing HIS song. We aren’t talking about him pointing his mic and the crowd mimicking him. No, we are talking about how for the entire chorus of this song, Rhett was on the receiving end of his on work, feeling the love and appreciation of this crowd, at the top of their collective lungs, singing his song back at him.

That was a moment of beauty in its purest form, and I can only imagine the happiness that brought to him.

While country is not normally my go to for live music, after a night like this, I can not wait to get back in the crowd to see this man perform again.

As of right now, Rhett is currently scheduled to be on tour throughout the 2025 calendar year. Check out the links below for the latest and most up to date information!
