Tokyo-based band HANABIE. is without a doubt one of the most unique bands making waves across rock music today. Described as “Harajuku-core,” the all-girl band combines neon-colored, glittery J-pop sounds and aesthetics with heavy metalcore screams and breakdowns, breaking new ground in a music scene that tends to place bands in one box or another. They’ve quickly won the adoration of global fans, playing the massive main stage at Lollapalooza last year and reaching audiences far beyond the J-rock niche.
North American fans will get the chance to catch them live next year, as they head on tour across the United States and Canada throughout March and April. They’ll be joined by fellow metal bands Nekrogoblikon and Enterprise Earth.
