Nov. 21, 2025 – saturdays at your place have been known as the Michigan emo band for some time now. Their latest album release, these things happen, has been on repeat for me since it came out. I’ve been a SAYP fan for quite some time now, their EP it’s always cloudy in kalamazoo is one of my favorite releases in the genre. This tour was my first time seeing the band live, and it did not disappoint.
The lineup for this show was stacked: Kerosene Heights, Thoughts on Bowling, Riley!, Sports, Carly Cosgrove, TRSH and Prince Daddy & The Hyena were all playing between both rooms at The Crofoot in Pontiac, and Michigan showed out to see it. Every set in the Pike Room was completely packed, and every set in the ballroom was completely filled out. The crowds went crazy, singing every word, nonstop crowd surfing through each set. This was one of the most fun shows I’ve gotten the chance to photograph – both crowd and performance wise.
This show was a testament to Michigan’s emo music scene, the sense of community throughout the whole venue was incredible. Tons of strangers brought together by their love of the music and the bands, and it was a beautiful thing to celebrate. To see SAYP’s success, from fans who have seen them play house venues around Michigan to seeing them headline an eight band lineup, was incredible and so well deserved for the band.
