Three distinct sounds, one powerful night of powerful rock

The show at Asbury Lanes was a masterclass in rock versatility, bringing together three very different but complementary acts: Ayron Jones, Them Dirty Roses, and headliners Black Stone Cherry. From gritty blues-grunge to soulful southern rock and hard rock anthems, the lineup offered a journey through modern rock’s many faces.

Ayron Jones opened the night with an intensity that was both emotional and electrifying. His music,a  blend of blues, grunge, hip-hop, and soul, felt like a reflection of his Seattle roots.  Ayron wasn’t just playing guitar; he was channeling emotion. Tracks like “Take Me Away” and “Filthy” hit hard, showcasing his vocals. He would drop into a heavy riff, then backed off into a soulful bridge, showing he’s not afraid to mix quiet hurt with intensity. Ayron set a high bar for the evening with his drummer Malachi and his bassist Bob. You couldn’t take your eyes off of the three of them. His sound is deeply personal, and live, it comes across even more powerful than on record.

Them Dirty Roses brought a completely different flavor to the night, southern rock steeped in grit, harmony, and storytelling. The Alabama boys backstory and sound are rooted in tradition, yet they feel fresh and vital.  Their songs balance big, driving riffs with soulful melodies.

The camaraderie between the band members was obvious — brothers James and Frank Ford and their longtime friends looked like they’d been playing together forever. Their tight musicianship allowed them to trade off harmonies, and improvisation with ease. Them Dirty Roses are torchbearers of southern rock. Their live show is a celebration of heart, and guitar-driven soul with a voice that gets you lost in every lyric.

As the headliner, Black Stone Cherry delivered everything their fans come to see, powerful vocals, and a show that felt like a celebration — no pun intended. From the moment they stepped on stage, they commanded attention. Their tightness as a band was evident. They mixed newer material with fan favorites and their set was full of high-octane. Black Stone Cherrys live performance reinforced why we all love them and sing along.

Having three distinct acts made the show feel like a curated rock festival. Ayron’s raw sound, Them Dirty Roses’ southern swagger, and Black Stone Cherry’s powerhouse rock complemented each other beautifully.
