Taylor Acorn is the Poster Child for rock n’ roll

How do you define rock? Distorted guitars, or distinct drum beats? How about we define rock n’ roll in the all sources moving forward with a picture of Taylor Acorn. With hundreds of concert experiences under my belt, most of them all forms of heavier metal and rock, I can say without a doubt that Acorn is the perfect example of what should classify.

With the signing of her first record deal to Fearless Records, Acorn has released her sophmore album, Poster Child, and all of us get to come along for her headlining North American tour.

Joining Acorn on tour is Los Angeles native band Wilt. Think Courtney Love meets Weezer. Honestly, they fit the definition of rock every bit as well as Acorn. Vocalist Chelsea Rifkin had the stage presence of royalty, commanding the attention of the audience from start to finish. I think what impressed me the most was their sound. Within the first few moments, I was already following on my streaming service just to make sure they show up more in my daily rotation. They have a raw and emotional sound that just makes you feel the song, not just the lyrics. I found myself rocking and swaying to each new track more than the last. On that note, kudos to the front of house staff; they did a great job with the space to make sure everyone had the best sound.

When I think of rock n’ roll, I think of a star. Someone who’s presence is enough brighten entire room. That is exactly what you get with Taylor Acorn. This tour is no different. I was privy to the VIP meet and greet before the show, and all I can say is I have never heard a more down to earth celebrity. She treated every single member of this event like an old friend, and carried that attitude through the entire night. Specifically, there was a little girl in the crowd holding a sign saying it was her first concert, and it seemed like Acorn was singing right to her so much of the night. It was absolutely wholesome and beyond cute. This was night that little girl will not soon forget.

As for the set itself, I have one word for you: WOW. I believe we were given a massive 20 song set, with material from spanning her entire career. I do not think there was as single moment where Acorn’s energy and showmanship was not on display. From constant movement, crowd interactions, and the perfect stage chemistry she has with her entire band, Acorn shows just how much she was made for this life. Not only that, you can see it with ever lyric, how much she loves doing this. As an audience member of this particular show, we got a special treat; Charlotte Sands. Sands, an artist of no small renown herself, joined Acorn on stage for her part in their song “Final Nail.

All in all, Taylor Acorn will be household staple when it comes to rock music for a very long time to come. While this tour is about half over at the time of writing this, be on the lookout for her coming to a city near you soon!
