Red Rocks in mid November typically isn’t for the weak. It’s normally cold and windy, but this year it was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect opportunity to close out a fantastic Red Rocks season! “The Valley of Darkness” hit the amphitheater, and VOYD absolutely leveled the place.
The night kicked off with Witching Hour, consisting of Vampa and Jeanie who set the tone with a set that felt sharp and intentional, nothing phoned in and everyone there could see how much of a blast they were having up on that stage. Then Simula came out swinging and whipped the crowd awake quickly. Alice Glass followed and instantly changed the temperature: weird, raw, unpredictable, and exactly what that slot needed.
By the time VOYD stepped out, the entire crowd was already locked in.
SVDDEN DEATH, or Voyd as he was that night, didn’t waste anyone’s time. The visuals were insane without feeling gimmicky – glitchy, grimy, high impact stuff that hit as hard as the drops. The bass rattled the staircases. The transitions were stupid tight. And then, casually, he started flying. Not once, multiple times. No overhyped buildup, just “oh, he’s airborne again” while the crowd lost its mind.
It felt loud, dirty, and aggressive in the best possible way. Nothing overly theatrical. Nothing cheesy. Just a straight up heavy set that punched all the way through the not so cold night.
As a final Red Rocks show for my 2025 season? Couldn’t have picked a better one. Perfect chaos to wrap up the year.
