Denver showed up in full force last Thursday night for Jesse McCartney, and the Fillmore Auditorium practically vibrated with nostalgia and heart. From the jump, it was clear this wasn’t just another nostalgic pop concert, it was a night of reconnection between an artist and the fans who grew up with his voice on the radio and stuck in their heads.
Ana Sky opened the night with a smooth, soulful set that set the perfect tone. Her vocals were pure and confident, the kind of opening act that makes you stop mid-conversation and actually listen.
When Jesse McCartney finally walked out, the room erupted. The energy wasn’t just excitement, it was genuine affection. He eased into the hits like “Leavin’” and “She’s No You,” and you could feel that wave of memory hit everyone at once. Whole sections of the crowd sang word for word, smiling like they were right back in 2004.
Between songs, Jesse opened up about his life, sharing sweet stories about his wife Katie Peterson and their son Archer James, who was born earlier this year. It gave the night a real sense of intimacy, like the crowd was catching up with an old friend rather than watching a pop star. Those little moments with the laughter and obvious warmth in his voice helped turn the Fillmore into something more like a family reunion than a concert.
He also slipped in newer tracks, being this was the “Weightless Tour” after all, proving he’s still got plenty to say – and sing. The blend of old and new showed just how much he’s evolved while keeping that same emotional pull that first made fans fall for him.
By the end, when Jesse came out and launched into his encore of “Beautiful Soul,” all phones were recording, all voices were up, and everyone was swaying together, one big choir of people who never stopped loving the guy who gave them the soundtrack to their teenage years.
And the best part? Jesse’s just getting started again. He’ll be joining the Jonas Brothers on their upcoming “JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour” in 2026, and after a night like this, Denver will be first in line for round two.
