On November 7, 2025, Hidden Youth released their brand new single “Promises“ which allows listeners to understand that you, as an individual, may experience certain situations that you can’t change, and you learn how to adapt to not being able to fully have control of these situations. Hidden Youth‘s vocal style, as well as their instrumentation, is filled with the rawness that truly represents the punk rock scene. “Promises“ showcases this band’s dynamic style of being able to capture the attention of those who enjoy punk rock music, as well as those who might be exploring this genre. “Promises“ is a nostalgic single that’s perfect for DIY shows that allow attendees to be who they want without judgment and be able to dance freely. When I listened to this single, I personally heard the ache in the vocals that can represent the pain of knowing you can’t go back to change things in the past, but you learn how to move on with life even though those situations can have long-lasting effects.
“”Promises” is a song about my place in the world, it’s about relinquishing the need for control and accepting that there are things that you can’t change. I’m pulling from experiences of being care experienced and also working with those who are care experienced alongside how this can affect my relationships. There is a dichotomy there that leads to inner conflict. Promises is an attempt at catharsis which leads me back to the fact that we only have so much control and that’s over how we can choose to respond to difficult situations and ugly feelings” – Hidden Youth
Hidden Youth is a five piece Emo rock band from Leeds, blending 90’s punk rock and emo influences together to create a powerful and infectious sound. Building on the positive response to their previous two singles, their new track “Promises” is a punchy and heartfelt song, with open heart surgery levels of honesty. They have just finished making a promo video for the song which will release after the single, and will be doing a string of dates from mid November with Airtight and Love As Always to support the release.
