On October 31, 2025, Trevor Jackson released his newest EP Goodbye. It is the second installment in his I Love You, Goodbye series, released via UnitedMasters. Goodbye represents healing. It also illustrates heartbreak and anything else that happens when a relationship does not work out as planned. This EP is filled with emotional tension that allows the listener to resonate to Jackson in a more emotional depth.

This single was the first song I listened off this EP. I can sense that maybe the individual went through an experience of giving up a child. They realized that, at the end of the day, when that happens, it means giving up the relationship with the mother as well. Or, the song means not having the relationship with the child you wish you had kept. Both interpretations can be represented in this single, but I feel like sometimes people regret giving up their child, and it causes more harm than good.
This single shows that men are often told to keep their emotions to themselves just because they are men. However, it opens doors for male listeners, helping them understand that it’s okay to talk about their emotions. Discussing what they are going through in life and seeking help is encouraged. Jackson’s soft vocals in this single will give you goosebumps—they are haunting yet very cathartic for such a short track.
“Goodbye is about release, that moment when you finally accept that love changes, but it doesn’t have to disappear. It’s not the end, it’s the in-between.” – Trevor Jackson
