KAYTRANADA made his return to the Bay Area, sharing a co-headlining tour with Justice. Louis Kevin Celestin, professionally known as KAYTRANADA, is a Canadian music producer and DJ. As his set time came closer, more and more fans surrounded his 360-degree stage design. His stage consisted of a platform that was suspended from the roof. Shortly after his stage lowered, security parted the crowd and made way for KAYTRANADA’s entrance.
KAYTRANADA began his set with “Drip Sweat,” off his album Timeless, featuring Channel Tres. After a couple of songs, KAYTRANADA’s stage began to rise and stopped in the middle. During his performance, while ascended, lasers shot up from the floor and down from the roof, creating a unique visual. KAYTRANADA’s performance was filled with energy, and he urged the crowd to sing along during his hit songs, including “Intimidated” featuring H.E.R., and “BE YOUR GIRL” with Teedra Moses.
Justice started their set on the main stage. The French electronic duo walked on stage in the dark and began their set with “Genesis x Phantom (WWW)” off their 2018 album Woman Worldwide. The stage had lights beaming from the very front of the stage to the back. Throughout their entire set, the lighting synced with their music, creating a special atmosphere. The movement from the crowd was conspicuous, as they jammed out to every song.
Opening for the show was Sam Gellaitry, a Scottish DJ and producer. Gellaitry has amassed over 3.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify. His hits include “Assumptions,” which has gained over 94 million streams, and “Picture in my Mind” with PinkPantheress.
