Nine Inch Nails has recently announced the second North American leg of their critically acclaimed “Peel It Back Tour,” beginning in New Orleans at Smoothie King Center on Thursday, February 5. They then stop through DC, Montreal, Austin, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and more. Sacramento at Golden 1 Center is the final stop on Monday, March 16, with all upcoming dates supported once again by friend and collaborator Boys Noize.
The sold-out “Peel It Back Tour” first launched in June with a run across Europe and the U.K., featuring shows in Dublin, London, Paris, Madrid, and more. The band is keen on bringing the next-level production to North America, with shows throughout the country, including Brooklyn, Chicago, and Los Angeles. The two-legged tour has drawn over 450,000 fans and earned widespread critical acclaim.
“Multi-sensory spectacle [as proof that] Nine Inch Nails has long been one of music’s most innovative bands.” -Consequence.
Nine Inch Nails released the original motion picture soundtrack for “TRON: Ares” via Interscope Records on September 9, where it debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. The soundtrack also peaked at No. 1 on the Soundtrack, Vinyl, Current Alternative, and Current Electronic Albums charts.
Marking the band’s first-ever score, NIN sees both bandmates brace a departure from their own acclaimed scores that have won them two Oscars, three Golden Globes, a GRAMMY, and an Emmy all together. “TRON: Ares” features pulsating synths, distorted textures, and haunting melodies with an eruption of the full force of Nine Inch Nails breaking boundaries and humming with raw power.
Reznor founded Nine Inch Nails (NIN) in 1988, now widely considered one of the most innovative and influential acts in modern music, known for fusing industrial, electronic, rock, and ambient sounds with emotionally raw and socially aggressive compositions. The band has already been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 and won two GRAMMY Awards. They have also garnered multi-platinum studio albums, including their 1989 debut (Pretty Hate Machine), The Downward Spiral from 1994, and The Fragile from 1999, the latter being their first album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200, a feat repeated by With Teeth in 2005.
In 2008, Reznor and Ross launched a career in composing music for film, with their first project being David Fincher’s “The Social Network,” which earned them an Oscar and Golden Globe. They have gone on to compose music for an array of film and television projects, such as the HBO series “Watchmen,” earning an Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition for a series, “Soul,” winning an Oscar, GRAMMY, Golden Globe, and British Academy Film Award, among others, “MANK,” receiving multiple nominations for the same awards, and more.
