Following a wild 18 months of seeing viral success, Good Neighbours has released their debut album, BLUE SKY MENTALITY, via Capitol/Polydor Records. The 14-track album distills the duo’s rise to fame into a bold statement of intent, woven together with euphoric indie-pop anthems that define who they’ve become. The album includes a collection of brand-new songs that showcase the duo’s surround sound in full for the first time.
Mixed by Dan Grech-Marguerat (The Killers, Lana Del Rey) with songwriting collaborations featuring Justin Tranter, Joe Janiak and Pablo Bowman, the album highlights fan favorites “Home,” “Keep It Up,” “Ripple,” and “Starry Eyed.” The focus track, “Walk Walk Walk,” communicates hope to listeners — even in its heaviest moments — as a rallying cry for openness, optimism, and togetherness.
“It’s surreal to finally say we have a debut album out. Blue Sky Mentality was written across cities, vans, tour buses, and hotel rooms—we’ve been playing these songs live for too long; it’s amazing that everyone can finally hear them the way we imagined from a tinny iPhone speaker. It’s a big record, but it’s not polished, which feels really fun. This is our dream.” – Good Neighbours.
Written while travelling during a year of late nights and long-haul flights between shows, the debut album captures the chaos and clarity of a life in constant motion. The album is about distance and about belonging, holding onto the people and places that shape you, and finding the light even during tough times. With soaring choruses and lyrics rooted in community and togetherness, the album is built for the quiet moments of reflection and communal release of a festival crowd. In less than two years, Oli Fox and Scott Verrill have experienced a remarkable rise in the world of music; their hit single “Home” became one of the biggest-selling singles by a U.K. act in America in 2024. The single’s impact on fans was equally important and striking, becoming a song that people clung onto during their darkest moments.
If you listen to our music or come to a show and you feel better after than you did before, then we’ve done our job.” -Oli Fox.
BLUE SKY MENTALITY is bringing on a fresh run of headline shows across the States, including both weekends at Austin City Limits Music Festival (10/3 and 10/10). The album is full of life in rooms full of singing people shoulder to shoulder that the duo are so excited to see.
