FKA Twigs just announced her new album, EUSEXUA Afterglow, set to be released on November 14. The project was originally conceived as the deluxe edition of her latest album EUSEXUA, which dropped on January 24, but it grew into a body of work all its own with a completely new tracklist. Fans are glowing with excitement after the release of her official album trailer, thrilled by the surprise of getting another full-length so soon. Alongside the announcement, Twigs unveiled a new single, “Cheap Hotel,” accompanied by a music video directed by Jordan Hemingway and featuring the Clermont Twins.

EUSEXUA was written as a love letter to the techno rave scene and the transformative way dance music makes her feel. In her April 2024 cover story for British Vogue, Twigs described the record as embodying “the moment before an orgasm: pure nothingness but also pure focus in a state of eusexua. That’s kind of the way I want to live my life right now.” If EUSEXUA captured that suspended high, EUSEXUA Afterglow picks up where it leaves off — it’s the feeling of walking out of the party with the music still pulsing through your veins, as the sun rises and you slowly descend from the night’s euphoria.

“Cheap Hotel” offers the first glimpse into the new album’s sound: still rooted in techno but slower, more expansive, and infused with a fusion of genres. Afterglow feels like the culmination of all the facets of Twigs’ artistry, from her devotion to the dancefloor, to her playful pop instincts, her moments of raw vulnerability, her sensual edge, and the dreamy textures that have defined her from the very beginning.

Last month, Twigs quietly launched the Afterglow era with an intimate listening party at a sold-out rave, where she performed “Cheap Hotel” for the first time — creating a truly special and unique experience for those in attendance.
