Cannibal Corpse — A momentous night to remember

If you’re going to a Cannibal Corpse show, you already know it’s going to be an epic night. When the bands Fulci, Full of Hell, and Municipal Waste are thrown into the mix, you’ve got yourself a tour that feels more like a demolition derby for death metal fans. From start to finish, this night was pits, riffs, and pure carnage.

I will be honest: I haven’t heard of any of these bands except for Cannibal Corpse. I was hyped to see what these bands brought, and wow! Let’s get into the review! The first band to open was Fulci, originated 2013 in Italy, inspired by the work and horror director Lucio Fulci. These guys are a brutal death metal band. True to their core, they put on a spectacular performance. The moody red lighting with a projection screen sharing scenes taken from horror movies, the music, the entirety of their set was spectacular.

The second band to come on was Full Of Hell. Originated and formed in 2009 in Maryland and Central Pennsylvania, this band is grindcore. I’ve never heard of this genre before, but my goodness they didn’t disappoint. The vocals, the heart, the equipment the frontman used to make his voice echo and boom throughout the venue, everything about this band was excellent, and it was such a great set.

The third band to open is Municipal Waste. This band is a cross over band of punk and metal formed in the 2000s from Richmond, Virginia. This band is a new personal favorite of mine now. Their energy got the moshpits going as well as crowd surfers. I highly recommend you check these bands out, you’re missing out if you don’t!

Once Cannibal Corpse hit the stage, everyone was screaming and buzzing. The energy from such a fantastic build up was incredible. I’ve seen different videos of this band performing — the videos didn’t do it justice. These guys are amazing live! I couldn’t help but headbang myself, as the music boomed along with Corpse Grinder’s stellar vocals. It was such a pleasure to be able to see them in concert.

What an incredible night!
