Demi Lovato drops anthemic dance-pop single “Here All Night”

On September 12, Demi Lovato released “Here All Night,” the second single from her highly anticipated ninth studio album. Following August’s release of “Fast,” the singer is setting the tone for a new era of dance and electro-pop.

The song combines infectious beats and catchy lyrics with Demi’s signature powerhouse vocals in a way we haven’t quite heard from them before. Demi has described the songwriting process as “channeling a character and stepping into someone else’s story. It’s about dancing through heartbreak. It’s raw and empowering, with a playful, voyeuristic point of view.”

For the accompanying music video, Demi collaborated once again with director Hannah Lux Davis, who previously directed the visuals for “Cool for the Summer” and “Sorry Not Sorry.” However, this time around, the aesthetic is entirely different. The latest video features Demi by herself, dancing her heart out and embracing freedom. The singer took to Instagram to describe the filming process as a “freeing experience” and encouraged everyone to have a solo dance party to “Here All Night.”

Demi’s ninth album It’s Not That Deep will be released on October 24 on all streaming platforms.
