Silverstein releases “Pink Moon” — The double LP is complete!

Earlier this year, Silverstein released their latest album Antibloom, and then a couple months later, announced that it was only half of what they had planned for this year. Antibloom was only part one of the project, and it was going to be a double LP. The second half, titled Pink Moon, is now out on all streaming platforms for your listening pleasure! Both LPs consist of eight tracks, and about three from Pink Moon were released ahead of its planned release date. Those three tracks have laid out the groundwork for this album alongside its other half, Antibloom. Both parts came from the same studio session with the intention for the albums to play complementary alongside each other.

The three tracks that were released early were bangers — especially the collaborations with Dayseeker and Cassadee Pope. However, the first track on this second LP just hits hard with the emotional intent. “I Love You But I Have To Let You Go”— the title alone speaks volumes on feelings. Despite it being the shortest track, the level of power behind the lyrics and vocal clarity is what pushes the boundaries Silverstein has created for themselves. It pulls on my heart strings differently than their other tracks — in a good way. It really showcases their abilities in different ways, not only sound-wise, but with intensity and passion. I really appreciate the softness that we get in this one track, especially since it’s the LP’s first track in listing. With a start like this, it’s such a jolt when it launches into track two, “Negative Space.” I adore the track “Negative Space” and all the energy it has to offer in the lyricism, which continues with powerful beats while at times countering with slower notes.

Widowmaker” was another track that really stood out to me. The overall sound comes off with this agitation that just pairs so well with the amplified beats, especially as it transitions into the choruses which allow for a breather in the notes before it continues to grow. The ending of the track is hard-hitting and feels almost kind of abrupt, but the next listed track, “Autopilot,” starts so smoothly.

Pink Moon is a whirlwind ride of music, especially paired alongside Antibloom. I have loved listening to both albums over the journey, and then putting tracks side by side for comparison. Silverstein does such a great job intertwining their songs with each other through their songwriting, creating beats that lend a hand in how the words should be perceived.

Silverstein is currently celebrating “25 Years of Noise” as a band, and this tour has been extended with a third leg that’ll take place this fall. Tickets are already on sale, so grab a ticket while you still can. I anticipate some new music to be played at the shows, maybe? I certainly hope so! But you can’t find out unless you grab a ticket, so go, go, go!
