In a bold entrance to the pop landscape, ADÉLA has arrived. Her debut EP, The Provocateur, is out now via Capitol Records. It is truly a stunning introduction to an artist who has been dreaming of this moment her entire life. This project is a telling of her story; a young woman who’s faced down betrayal, defiance, and exploitation on her path to becoming a popstar.
Alongside the release of the EP, ADÉLA has announced she is heading out on her first solo tour, “THE PROVOCATOUR PART I.” The tour is set to kickoff on October 9 in London, before hitting New York City on October 14 and Los Angeles on October 21.
Looking for a taste of that live energy? Look no further than ADÉLA’s new music video for “SexOnTheBeat,” track two off the EP. Directed by 91 Rules and featuring choreography from Robbie Blue, the visual showcases ADÉLA’s extensive background as a dancer. In the video, she is contorting her body into alien and unfamiliar shapes, challenging her audience’s perceptions.
Reflecting on her creative process, ADÉLA shared, “I want to create a world that’s relatable on a human level, I want to talk about things that are maybe uncomfortable. That’s who I am also as a person: I’m super blunt and kind of clinical, in a sense. Feelings, both positive and negative, hold the same weight to me.”
Only 21 years old, her journey is as unique as her music. At the age of three, ADÉLA began ballet lessons in Moscow, later attending elite academies in Vienna and London. Her passion for music was so strong that she taught herself English by watching Disney Channel and celebrity interviews on youtube. We first saw a glimpse of her ambition as a Top 20 finalist for the girl group KATSEYE on the Netflix series “Pop Star Academy.” Now, ADÉLA is ready to claim her place as pop’s new provocateur.
