Busta Rhymes has been honored with the 2,818th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard. His star is taking its place in the recording category, with speakers Emcee Big Boy, Chris Rock, LL Cool J, and Chuck D celebrating the occasion. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is behind the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, supporting the City of Los Angeles, and has proudly hosted events globally.

Busta Rhymes has sold a noteworthy 20 million albums globally, has 12 GRAMMY® nominations to his name, and has achieved seven top 10 places on the Billboard 200. His catalog includes over 60 million certified gold and platinum records, representing his worldwide influence. He has continuously shown that he is more than just an artist; he breaks the mold.
Growing up with modest origins in Brooklyn and Long island, he pioneered and founded the culture infused collective Leaders of the New School, which was the stepping stone for the start of his career. Through his distinctive voice, electrifying stage presence and memorable music videos which broke the conventions, adding a new twist on genre.
His solo rise to fame started with his iconic 1996 vinyl, titled The Coming, but it has been stated that his second album, When Disaster Strikes…, dubbed “the tuning point” of his career by Pitchfork, propelled him to stardom.
He has been on a winning streak, delivering tracks that have made their mark, such as classic titles “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” “Break Ya Neck,” and “Touch It,” earning him the title as one of hip hop’s most notable MCs and thrilling performers. “Put Your Hands…” was crowned the Greatest Hip-Hop Video of All Time by BET Jams, and MTV recognized him as “one of hip hop’s greatest visual artists.”
His impact within the hip hop scene has not gone unnoticed by fellow artists, with Jay-Z and KRS-One both stating that he is “the greatest performer of all time,” while Phife Dawg gave him the title of “the James Brown of hip hop.” Busta’s list of collaborators is nothing short of remarkable, with icons such as Dr. Dre, Janet Jackson, Eminem, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, and even Ozzy Osbourne and Dave Chappelle.
Busta was awarded with the 2022 BMI icon award, recognizing his remarkable influence as a songwriter, artist, and cultural pioneer. His early 2000s hit “Break Ya Neck” broke the Guiness World Record for the most words in a hit single, showcasing his swift lyrical delivery and specialty of technique. In most recent times, recognitions have flowed in, such as being honored with the BET Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023 and the Global Icon Award at the 2024 MTV EMAs.
He has also made his debut within the film and television industry, making iconic appearances in “High Learning,” “Finding Forrester,” “Narc,” and “Shaft,” as well as voice acting in blockbuster animated films like “The Rugrats Movie.” His music has also made waves in movie soundtracks, such as his feature on “Taking Everything,” the thrilling introduction track for the film “Bad Guys 2,” further proving his adaptability and influence.

Rhymes is currently preparing for the debut of his next studio album, Vengeance, with him being the executive producer under The Conglomerate Entertainment. Busta continues to grace stages around the world as he joined the 2024 “N.Y.?State?of?Mind Tour,” a co-headlining series featuring Wu?Tang Clan and Nas.
