On August 1, Australian deathcore unit To The Grave released their new EP, Still, via Unique Leader Records – which can be purchased in a link below. Fans can also stream Still in its entirety alongside “The Herd” movie, which can be seen in a link below.
To The Grave comments: “We found out about ‘The Herd’ as a few of us are big horror fans, and after connecting with Melanie the director, we found our art was coming from the same place – using violent imagery to express our frustration and sadness about the plight of animals. She was excited about our message aligning with what they’d done in the movie and was kind enough to give us permission to use it to accompany the EP. The movie is brutal and graphic and the vibe fits as visuals for these songs.” “The songs on Still didn’t fit the vibe of the rest of the Everyone’s A Murderer album, but we couldn’t let these ones go,” explains Matt Clarke (bass / backing vocals). “A lot of them are us trying new directions or flavours to see how far we can stretch the sound of this band, we hope the fans enjoy it as much as we did writing and recording them. Songs like ‘Forced Diet Reassignment’ and ‘Sawed Off’ are so strong live and have really found their place in our set on recent tours. It’s exciting to be able to just do whatever we want and see what sticks. And capping it all off with a Cannibal Corpse cover was more of that same approach – doing what we want just for the fun of it.” Read on for some early reviews of Still from media around the world: “It seems as though with every release, To The Grave are solidifying their footing, seeping in deeper and taking aim harder, with the proportion of missed shots now dwindling among the zeros.” – Wall of Sound “Australian deathcore powerhouse To The Grave is back with a vengeance.” – Chaos Zine
“Guaranteed to get people moving, pitting, throwing hands and even more…” – Noizze

To The Grave will appear across Europe at some of the biggest festivals this summer, in addition to touring alongside Angelmaker, Suffocation, Psycroptic, Warbringer, and Skeletal Remains, before heading to the U.K. at month-end for a headlining trek with support from labelmates Osiah. Matt Clarke comments: “Our European and U.K. fans are so supportive, and it’s one of our favourite places to tour, but this one is going to be special. We’re playing some of the biggest festivals on some amazing lineups, getting out there to show these massive crowds what we can do is super exciting. And our first international headline shows give us a chance to dust off some older material, expect a few fan favourites and some surprise picks.” See below for all dates!

This release is probably one of my most favorites of To The Grave, especially one song in particular, “Show Them The Bodies.” Ever since this release came out, I’ve been nonstop playing it in my car. I’ve been listening to this amazing band for a few years now, and the first ever song I heard was “Recoil in Horror.” I remember listening to it over and over again. I also got to see this vicious sounding band live when they were on tour with Oceano a year ago, and I got the opportunity to make friendly with a couple members. To say I’m proud of them and their accomplishments since I started listening to them a few years ago is an understatement. Being a person who’s not only into heavy music, but their music in specific, makes me think “Should I be going Vegan?” and “Where do I start?” That’s how you know a band is good; when they have such a strong message that it makes you think about your own values. Please, go buy tickets if this band is coming near you and stream their music.
