After dropping her new song “Mirtazapine” without warning on the radio last week, Hayley Williams is back with another surprise drop. Fans who bought the new ‘Good Dye Young‘ line, EGO, suddenly got an email with a code to unlock 17 new songs on Hayley’s website. When visiting https://www.hayleywilliams.net/, you are met with a retro looking website where you have to enter the code you received to access the website – hint: if you don’t have a code there are some floating around on twitter.
Fans have been speculating for a while if we were getting another Hayley Williams solo album sometime in the near future. With seemingly radio silence from the star on new music, in true Hayley Williams fashion, she released it on a random Monday in July. At the time of writing this, there is no word on when this will be available on streaming, or if we will finally get a solo tour from Williams – which I am hoping we do after her “Petals for Armour” tour got cancelled because of the pandemic in 2020.
The album, titled Ego, the same as the new hair dye, will be Hayley’s first fully independent release after her record deal with Warner/Atlantic Music ended.
