The Driver Era ends their tour with a bang!

The Driver Era, made up mainly of Ross and Rocky Lynch (Ricky joins for tours), completely rocked the building at their last show on tour, which sold-out at the Hollywood Palladium.

The brothers took off on their “Obsession Tour” on June 20, ending it it on July 18 in Los Angeles, and they did not disappoint.

Opening for the boys was an extremely talented Columbian singer named Valé. She sang her heart out on that stage and did it with pride while singing in her native language, Spanish. She even brought out a flag that represented Colombia and she beautifully waved it around as the crowd cheered her on and showed their support. Valé knew how to work a crowd, and she brought such a bright and lively energy to the room. That energy carried the crowd as they eagerly waited for The Driver Era.

The set started with white curtains raised up to the ceilings that covered the stage and band. Bright lights illuminated the band behind the curtains revealing the band members silhouettes as they played their first song. After the first song, the curtain dropped and the band was finally revealed as everyone roared with excitement.

I’ll admit, the set design had me taking more photos than I initially intended. I couldn’t help but find myself raising my camera up to capture the amazing view in front of me. The set comprised of a bench under a rectangular looking L shaped street light. To the right of the bench, there was a phone booth outlined with bright LED (see photos below). It was a cool and simple design that accentuated their performance in many ways. Ross was able to interact with the phone booth and use the bench to sit by Rocky for an intimate few songs.

Believe it or not, it got even better when the lighting and graphics on the screen behind the band did their thing. There were bursts of beautiful oranges and blues that felt like candy to my eyes along with hues of greens, purples, pinks and reds that all perfectly complimented one another. The graphics consisted of multiple interactive scenes with Ross being able to be seen through the screen and some really cool cyber-feeling graphics that made you feel like you’re in a video game. On top of all that, they had some awesome cryoFX and a couple a fun confetti moments!

Ross worked the stage, making sure to use up all the space and interact with as much of the crowd as possible. They were able to play some of their top hits such as “Afterglow,” “Malibu,” and “A Kiss,” while putting on an amazing show that kept the crowd engaged and excited. Honestly, this show just felt like the perfect end to their one of a kind “Obsession Tour.”
