A night of ’90s nostalgia in Atlantic City, NJ

A night of ’90s music nostalgia brought an almost sold-out crowd to their feet. They sang along to every song performed by all three artists.

The Spin Doctors kicked the night off with the most animated and contagious energy I have seen in a very long time. Not only did they play their classics, but they surprised the crowd with their own rendition of Prince’s “Purple Rain.”

The highly anticipated Gin Blossoms took the stage next. I got the feeling that much of the crowd was most excited to see them. I couldn’t keep track of the amount of Gin Blossoms shirts being worn by the fans. Not one person sat during their whole performance as they crushed their entire set. Lead-singer Chris Barron from the Spin Doctors even joined them on stage to collaborate on a song. Everything, from the drumming to the stringing of the guitar, was in perfect harmony.

Closing out the night was Blues Traveler. They started the show with their classic hit “Runaround” to get the crowd on to their feet singing. No one stopped until the lights went off and the show was over. Their performance brought back so many great memories to so many fans that night. It truly says something about a band when you hear a song and you can remember what you were doing at that time, 20 something years ago.
