Silly Goose is back and just as ready to party it up on stage for you all. This band is a punch-in-the-face act to watch live that simply just knows how to write LOUD lyrics — not in a bad way. Just recently, they announced their new album, Keys To The City, is coming out this fall on October 10, and you can preorder that now! This album will consist of 12 total songs. Alongside this announcement they dropped TWO singles from it to stir up excitement, one being the titular track, “Keys To The City,” and the other called “Now Dance.” Both of these tracks bring a big sound and definitely define their sound. This rap-rock band doesn’t just take over the party, they command it.
The band has noted that it’s a shame that the local government of Atlanta hasn’t given them the keys to the city, and said they’re just going to take what’s theirs. The humor behind the title and lyrics is not lost, and that’s really what Silly Goose is about. I do particularly enjoy the line, “Keep an eye for the fresh new drop,” almost like a sarcastic hint that they’re coming out with a new album this year and as if you need to actually be looking out for it if you’re not already following them. I have seen this rowdy act perform once, and let me tell you, I was not at all prepared for what I witnessed. Their energy was like no other rap-rock act that I’d seen and in a good way. I love it when a band just exceeds first expectations, and they are indeed a party band.
Their other track, “Now Dance,” is a fun title and makes me think of the song from “High School Musical 2,” where Chad insists to Ryan that he cannot dance, but Ryan does not believe him, and it’s a full-blown dance battle scene. It’s not a request, it’s a command that you do as they say. Now, dance!
Silly Goose is hitting the road this fall in support of French metalcore band LANDMVRKS, who also know how to rock the stage like their very own. This is such a perfect pairing, so snag a ticket and get ready for your ears to be blasted. Don’t miss out on this perfect duo partying together in a city near you, maybe!
