Friday, July 10, 2025 — Dreamwake returns with another single, “Oasis,” a powerful track ahead of their next album The Lost Years, set to release on August 8 via UNFD.
The Connecticut-based band continues to evolve their signature blend of synthwave, metalcore and saxophone, effortlessly combining the different genres into their own unique sound. Sometimes leaning more melodic like the previous single “Afterglow,” or heavier as with “Oasis,” Dreamwake showcases the versatility they can execute within their own soundscape. The guitar is a standout on the track, taking the reins straight from the beginning with sweeping technical riffs, leading throughout the song to the sax solo into the breakdown that you just can’t resist head banging to. It’s melodic, heavy, technical and unmistakably Dreamwake — an exciting track to showcase who they are and what’s to come on the upcoming album.
“‘Oasis’ explores themes of emotional isolation, internal conflict, and the weight of unhealed trauma,” the band shares. “It’s told from the perspective of someone haunted by both personal pain and inherited wounds. They feel lost, yet endlessly chase a glimmer of peace they call their ‘Oasis.‘”
The music video is directed by Alex Kouvatsos at Blackwolf Imaging, and in between shots of the band, it shows a cinematic telling of a man haunted by a polaroid of the past, driving through the night with it constantly in mind. “In the end, they burn the photo in a symbolic act of letting go,” the band explains. “But when they awaken, the photo is still in their hand, suggesting that this cycle of pain and pursuit is unending, a loop that refuses to break.”
With the rising popularity of sax-infused metalcore lead by acts, like Bilmuri and Sleep Token with their monumental single “Emergence” — featuring Bilmuri saxophonist Gabi Rose — Dreamwake is forging their path ahead in this unique space and growing bigger with every release.
