Powerhouse duo Drew & Ellie Holcomb are heading out on the road starting next week for their “Greetings From New England Tour,” in support of their first full-length album together Memory Bank, released this past January. These shows are an extension of the North American “Memory Bank Tour” that took place from February through May, and saw the two perform shows in a handful of select cities throughout New England.
Drew and Ellie, each known for their work separately – Drew with his band Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors and Ellie for her solo music – have sparked magic now creating music as a couple. The record blends Ellie’s southern country roots with the more contemporary sound of Drew’s band, packed full of lush harmony and catchy hooks that delve into deeply intimate autobiographical content. The intimacy between the couple is easy to hear, and even easier to appreciate; their vulnerability pays off in droves as they dive into the push and pull of two musicians having spent the majority of their lives in motion on and off the road, a task as rewarding as it is difficult.
The album was written on the road during one of Drew & Ellie’s annual acoustic tours, and shows the two at their very best as they celebrate their unconventional but joyous lives together. It’s refreshing, unique, bright, and energetic – something entirely new that fans of either musician are sure to find meaning within.
