Good Neighbours release “Suburbs,” announce debut album ‘Blue Sky Mentality’

Good Neighbours has announced their highly anticipated debut album, Blue Sky Mentality, set to release September 26 via Capitol/Polydor. Alongside this announcement, the British duo dropped their newest single, “Suburbs,” a track that fans have been begging to be released since it was initially teased on social media. On the single, the duo shared, “‘Suburbs’ is a message back to our younger selves. Coming from small towns outside of London, it was hard to dream big without getting shot down. This track is our anthem for breaking free from that mindset and chasing something bigger.”

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of this album since the release of their self-titled EP in October of 2024. Despite having been consistently on the road for months, headlining sold-out tours across the world and supporting acts like Benson Boone, Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, and Foster the People, Good Neighbours has been writing, recording, and releasing new music continuously (and have yet to miss!). Their single “Home” has amassed over 550 million streams globally, earned platinum status in the US and Australia, gold in New Zealand and the UK, and was the first platinum-certified single by an alternative band in 2024. In addition to being the most-streamed debut single globally by a new artist in 2024, the track was one of the top charting songs of the year, reaching the top 10 at Alternative radio in the US and top 5 at AAA radio. Ahead of “Suburbs,” 2025 has seen the release of “Ripple” and “Starry Eyed,” as well as two remixes of “Ripple”, the soft version and the Blessed Madonna’s Godsquad Mix, and a re-record of “Starry Eyed” featuring Chelsea Cutler. In addition to “Ripple” and “Starry Eyed,” the album will feature tracks “Keep It Up” and “Home” from their self-titled EP, along with nine yet to be released songs.

Reflecting on the album, Good Neighbours shared, “Blue Sky Mentality has been our motto since day one. Our band began as a kind of light relief – a creative outlet to break from jobs that we couldn’t stand and some tough personal times. Over the last year, we ran with that feeling, writing our debut album on the road – in the back of tour buses, hotel rooms, and scattered corners of the world. That’s what ‘blue sky mentality’ means to us—finding light, friendship and a sense of escapism wherever you are.”

Following the release of Blue Sky Mentality on September 26, the band will embark on another headlining North American tour, kicking off October 3rd with festival appearances at Austin City Limits in Austin, TX and making stops in cities like New York, Chicago, and Phoenix before concluding in Los Angeles November 12.

Having seen Good Neighbours multiple times live, I can confirm that they put on a must-see performance. Do not miss Good Neighbours when they hit the road this fall! Tickets can be purchased here.
