(June 27, 2025) – Following up from the release of “Suzanne,” which saw the singer collaborate with DJ and producer Mark Ronson earlier this month, award-winning artists RAYE and Ronson have teamed up once more to compose a track for the all-star F1® THE ALBUM, titled “Grandma Calls The Boy Bad News.” The song is now widely available on a variety of platforms, accompanying the theatrical release of Apple Original Film “F1® THE MOVIE,” distributed globally by Warner Bros. From the team that composed iconic, blockbuster soundtracks such as Barbie The Album, Twisters: The Album, The Greatest Showman, Suicide Squad and more, F1® THE ALBUM is the driven and all-star harmonious sidekick to the highly fueled, thrilling film “F1® THE MOVIE,” starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”). The fresh soundtrack features 17 huge new tracks created by a lineup of A-list talent, including RAYE, Burna Boy, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, ROSÉ, Sexyy Red, Tate McRae, and more.
“Grandma Calls The Boy Bad News” marks the second offering this month from RAYE and Ronson. On June 13, the dynamic duo surprised fans with the release of “Suzanne,” the first installment from South London-born RAYE since becoming the only artist ever nominated simultaneously for Best New Artist and Songwriter of the Year at the 2025 GRAMMY Awards.
“Suzanne” showcases Ronson’s distinctive style, enhanced by the inclusion of a horn piece that transports the listener to an intimate club scene, evoking a smooth, timeless, and vintage feel that both artists adore. A long-awaited collaboration, the song was set in motion by luxury Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet, of which both artists are brand ambassadors. Celebrating 150 years, this iconic collaboration is a piece of the brand’s AP x Music series.
Still on a high from her performance at Governors Ball, sharing the evening with a venue of 25,000, there’s no stopping RAYE as she embarks on her festival run this summer starting at Glastonbury (June 28), moving on to Montreux Jazz Festival (July 9) and Newport Jazz Festival (August 1), before circling back to her roots to headline London’s sold-out All Points East (August 23) alongside special guests Doechii, Tyla, and JADE.
ABOUT RAYE
British musician, singer, songwriter, and producer RAYE is adding her twist to modern music. A globally recognized voice and three-time 2025 GRAMMY nominee, the South London-raised artist made Recording Academy history as the first to earn nods in both Best New Artist and Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical) categories in the same year. This achievement follows her record-breaking streak at the 2024 BRIT Awards, which saw her take home a ground-breaking six awards – overtaking previous record holders Adele and Harry Styles – and became the first woman ever named Songwriter of the Year.

The single made its entrance on multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100 (No. 68) and the Dance Streaming Songs chart (No. 2). Adding to her list of collaborators, RAYE has most recently teamed up with globally recognized DJ and Academy Award, Golden Globe, and nine-time GRAMMY-winning producer and songwriter Mark Ronson to create two contenders for the hottest summer singles – “Suzanne” and “Grandma Calls The Boy Bad News” – both out on a variety of platforms.
