The Marcus King Band’s soulful new track “Carolina Honey”

The Marcus King Band has become a favorite with new music on “Honky Tonk Hell,” out now, with more music to come!

The Marcus King Band is back with another taste of new music. Their latest single, “Carolina Honey,” is out now via American Records/Republic Records — give it a listen and share it [HERE].

The new track follows “Honky Tonk Hell,” which dropped recently and gave fans a first look at what’s coming next. You can check that one out [HERE], and don’t miss the lyric video for “Carolina Honey” [HERE].

“‘Carolina Honey’ is all about how I met my wife and what a significant impact that chance meeting had on my life that one night after a show in Raleigh, NC,” says King. “I woke up still hurting from the night before – still feeling I didn’t have much to live for. I’d given up on any thought that I could ever be ‘happy.’ All that changed when Little Bird walked into my life. After my set, Briley came backstage to say hello – she started playing Linda Ronstadt and singing and for the first time I saw something or someone in front me that gave me ‘hope.’ Someone I wanted to be my BEST self for – Someone I wanted to grow old with, someone that made me want to grow old ‘at all.’ ‘Carolina Honey’ takes the listener through my mentality that day, my change of heart that night and my burning desire for her to feel the same way too.”

Marcus King is staying busy this year, hitting the road with heavy hitters like Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson, Eric Church, and Dwight Yoakam (full list of dates below).

Lately, he’s been popping up all over — he played CMA Fest at Nissan Stadium with Brooks & Dunn right after their take on “Rock My World (Little Country Girl)” dropped on Reboot II. He also swung by Spotify House and linked up with Jordan Davis for a live version of their unreleased collab, “Louisiana Stick.

Fans even got a surprise pop-up set from Marcus at Chief’s for SiriusXM, and he jumped in on Lukas Nelson’s set there, too. Safe to say, he’s everywhere right now.

Marcus King, born in Greenville, South Carolina, and now based in Nashville, has been playing music since he was a kid — he started performing with his blues guitarist dad when he was just eight. He made his solo debut in 2020 with El Dorado, produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. The album earned rave reviews — the Associated Press called it “a definite high point of 2020” — and it scored Marcus his first Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

After the success of El Dorado, Marcus followed it up with Young Blood in 2022 — once again teaming up with Dan Auerbach. The album made a big splash, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Blues Albums Chart, with critics calling it “a staggeringly confident work.”

Last year, he switched things up with Mood Swings, his third album, produced by the legendary Rick Rubin. Rolling Stone praised it, saying Marcus “goes for something much more daring, vulnerable, and openhearted.”
