On June 20, distinguished American rock band The Vegabonds’ awaited new album, Young & Unafraid, was officially released. Accompanying the brand new album, the official music video for the title track is now available, directed by Joshua Shoemaker.

Produced by The Vegabonds and Tom Tapley (Blackberry Smoke, Pearl Jam), Young & Unafraid explores the narrative of heartbreak and redemption, adding a personal touch with the members’ experiencing flashbacks to the highs and lows of growing up and the extensive time they’ve spent on the road. Throughout the ten tracks, The Vegabonds transport listeners into their atmosphere – one that blurs the lines between genres they’ve mastered throughout their career, a combination of their inventory of country, alternative and heartland rock influences.

“The Vegabonds are truly keeping southern rock and roll alive, but they’re not afraid to step outside of the established and partake in the experiential.” – Atwood Magazine.

To mark the occasion of the new music, The Vegabonds will commence their Young & Unafraid Tour.” with album release shows being held at Charlestons The Windjammer on June 20  and 21, alongside an appearance at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on July 24. Venues such as Atlanta’s Terminal West, Asheville’s Asheville Music Hall, Charlotte’s Amos’ Southend, Lexington’s The Burl, Indianapolis’ Turntable and Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club have been added to the tour list. Full details can be found at www.thevegabonds.com/tour.

Quickly gaining traction, All Country News praises, “they’ve captured a sound that echoes the spirit of Tom Petty’s effortless cool and The Eagles’ harmonious charm, but still holds its own with an undeniable freshness,” while AL.com says the new songs “call to mind when Tennessee band Kings of Leon refined their shaggy rock into breakthrough hits like ‘Sex on Fire’ and ‘Use Somebody.’”

The group shares, “We’ve been playing together since college and this album really captures who we are as a band. It felt a little nostalgic making it like we were sitting around a fire talking about the moments we’ve experienced together over the years; the good, the bad and the dumb. We hope that everyone can find themselves in these stories and it helps them remember what it felt like to be young and unafraid.”

Since the band discovered their roots at Auburn University in 2010, The Vegabonds have made themselves “a force to be reckoned with” (Live For Live Music) and have built a dedicated fan base, with singles such as “Georgia Fire,” “Partying with Strangers,” “Where We Used To Go” and  “Shaky Hands,” hitting a mile stone of 6 million streams altogether.

Well-known for their distinctive live shows, The Vegabonds have appeared at numerous shows throughout the U.S. and Europe, sharing the stage with artists such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gregg Allman, Blackberry Smoke, Lukas Nelson, Whiskey Myers and The Red Clay Strays during their time on the road.

The masterminds behind vegabonds’ unique sound are Daniel Allen (vocals, acoustic guitar), Richard Forehand (guitars, pedal steel), Beau Cooper(keyboards), Paul Bruens (bass) and Bryan Harris (drums).

“Where has this awesome band been all my life…This has all the pulse-quickening snap, crackle and pop you could want of a country rocker” – Music Row
