Sleep Theory‘s “Afterglow” tour ran through major city Chicago on June 14, 2025, and this particular night was like no other. A six-week tour full of up-and-coming bands scoring the rock market. Strayview and RobenX were the openers, while Nevertel was direct support to the headlining tour. This show capitalizes on grabbing new fans from different genres with new wave music of metalcore, electronic, and a hint of rich jazz with singer Cullen’s rich voice. “I’m not gonna tell you something you want me to say just so you can like me, I’m here to play music,” the band declared -and thats exactly what they did. big show, big production, big vibes – everything was just so loud and in every positive way possible.
Sleep Theory played a full 90-minute set, showcasing every single from their catalogue, such as “Fallout,” “Static,” “Stuck in my Head,” and their freshman release “Another Way” along with their live cover of *NSYNC’s “Bye, Bye, Bye,” which just so happens to be a fan favorite. The energy stayed high all throughout, and at one point towards the end, Sleep Theory covered Nevertel’s unreleased song “Break the Silence” with the dual front men, making this tour even that much more unique.
Nevertel was direct support for the night, and they put on one hell of a show. From switching members mid-set, to shifting genres on the fly, they kept the crowd on it’s toes. With clear influences of bands like From Ashes to New and Architects, their set was a standout. Nevertel blends rock, rap, and electronic elements into a fresh, energetic, and hard-to-pin-down show.
“The Afterglow” tour overall is the freshest thing to hit the modern rock market. A never before seen demonstration of what the next wave of bands bring to the table. Success wouldn’t even suffice what “The Afterglow” tour has done, with multiple sold-out shows, a whole crowd of new young fans, and the constant reminder what music does for a whole group of people.
