Fit For A King announce new album, “Lonely God”

It’s been three years since the release of “Hell We Create,” and just recently, Fit For a King have dropped a couple of singles. They have officially announced the makings of a new album, and the title track is available to stream or watch in the new music video. This album will consist of 12 total tracks, and right now, you can listen to three of them.

Title track shares the same name as the album, “Lonely God,” and according to vocalist Ryan Kirby, this track touches on the idea about how the pursuit for power often means comprising oneself to become “god-like.” But it’s a lonely path because people despise you for the choices you’ve made to get there. This is part of the backing and inspiration behind the whole album – choosing something because of a desire to share what they’ve wanted without asking for other input. The idea of being able to represent oneself truly and authentically in the music scene is so often disrupted with the idea that the music must always have a different motive. Kirby continued to state how this album is an entire band’s collaborative piece of work, maintaining their ingenuity in the lyrics and their beliefs, thus allowing them to grow together as a band.

I want to commend Fit For a King for wanting to really pursue their band’s image and how they want to be perceived, without the extra motivation to become viral or because management is influencing them to become a certain way just because they’re in charge. I’ve been a fan of their music for years, and I love it when bands fight the status quo of what their label thinks or what the fans want, while remaining true to their original image. Too many bands today often get lost inside and change, but not always for the better. While bands are allowed to grow and change, fans are also allowed to decide against supporting their music.

I look forward to seeing where Fit For a King takes us on this journey and cannot wait to hear the new album when it comes out!
