Dream pop artist Winter—the recording project of Brazilian-born, Los Angeles-rooted, and now New York City-based Samira Winter—has announced her highly anticipated new album, Adult Romantix, due out August 22, 2025, via her new label home Winspear. Alongside the announcement, Winter shares the album’s lead single “Just Like a Flower,” accompanied by an evocative music video that captures a nostalgic return to the glimmering, aching summers of Los Angeles.

Described by Samira as “a tunnel of summers and memories,” Adult Romantix chronicles her emotional transition from Los Angeles to New York City, blending influences from gothic literature, ‘90s rom-coms, and ‘90s indie rock. The result is an immersive, bittersweet portrait of youth and transformation. Samira notes:
“This song captures the essence of daydreaming in your bedroom—a place where limitless imagination and inspiration can exist. It’s tied to memories of writing songs in my old bedroom in Echo Park.”
The album was recorded with longtime collaborator JooJoo Ashworth (SASAMI, Corridor) and mixed by Henry Stoehr (Slow Pulp). Lyrically, Adult Romantix embraces the emotional complexity of young adulthood—balancing carefree bliss with melancholic introspection, romantic longing with wistful nostalgia. Influences include Sonic Youth, Elliott Smith, Dean Blunt, and West Coast shoegaze icons like Further and Starflyer 59.
Winter also announced a full U.S. headline tour this fall, joined by support acts A Country Western and Hooky (her recent collaborators). Tickets go on sale Thursday, May 22, at 10 a.m. local time.
