On Saturday, May 31, 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dylan Gossett’s “The Back 40” tour to Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Fans were lined up around the block eager to enter the sold-out show, which was so sold out that Revolution Live had to move the entire show to their larger outdoor stage to accommodate the vast crowd.
Dylan Gossett has been making waves as a newcomer in the country music scene. The 26-year-old hailing from Austin, Texas, has gone from recording songs in his bedroom in 2023, to hitting the stage for sold-out crowds all over the country in 2025. His biggest hit “Coal” has already gained over 428 MILLION global streams since its release in July of 2023, and has found itself earning many platinum certifications across multiple different countries, including the United States. For most artists, it takes many years to achieve this level of success, but for Dylan Gossett, it came quickly and effortlessly. His talent speaks for itself.
It’s a warm summer night in Florida as fans stream into The Backyard at Revolution Live. The large outdoor space is decorated with American flags, with a banner reading “Dylan Gossett” pasted along the back of the stage. First up on the stage was Kashus Culpepper, playing a broad range of his soulful country tunes. The fans showed him lots of love while singing along to the lyrics of his memorable setlist.
Finally, Dylan Gossett hit the stage. Fans absolutely lost their minds as he picked up his acoustic guitar and started to strum the opening notes of “Tree Birds.” As the set went on, the fans only got more and more excited while belting out their favorite lyrics. In my opinion, the most heartwarming moment of his set is when he played “Coal.” This track was clearly a fan favorite. The crowd was in an uproar as they sang along to the words, with a group of girls even shedding tears as they belted out the lyrics “They say pressure makes diamonds, how the hell am I still coal?” I’ve covered a good amount of country shows, but Dylan Gossett’s set has to take the cake for the most emotional, intimate and heartwarming country show I’ve ever seen.
