The pop-punk and emo scene has seen a resurgence of their favorite bands from the early-2000s over the last several years, with many bands returning to the spotlight through new music and selling out tours celebrating the 20th anniversary of their landmark albums. Cartel is the latest to join the wave, honoring two decades of their iconic album Chroma with a reimagined release and a national headlining tour. Although the band re-emerged on the scene in 2022, releasing singles “17” and “The End” and touring in support of both Dashboard Confessional and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, this tour will mark their first headlining tour in ten years.
Chroma – 2025 is a re-recorded and reimagined take on their beloved debut album, featuring guest vocals from Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday and a slightly reshuffled tracklist that reflects how the band originally intended the songs to flow. The new take on the fan-favorite record is set to release September 12 via Field Day Records, with the first single, “Honestly – 2025,” available now on all streaming platforms. Cartel frontman Will Pugh says the re-recording aims to “bring Chroma into a modern place sonically,” merging the raw energy of Cartel’s live performances with the polish of today’s production.
To mark the occasion, the band will hit the road this fall on a full U.S. headline tour kicking off the same day the album drops in Charlotte, NC. Stops include major cities like Nashville, Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago, and Austin, before wrapping in their hometown of Atlanta. Tickets and VIP packages are available for purchase now at www.chroma20.com. Ahead of the tour, Cartel will also appear at Vans Warped Tour on June 14–15 in Washington, D.C. and July 26–27 in Long Beach, CA. With Chroma still hailed as a defining pop-punk album, Chroma – 2025 is both a nod to the past and a reintroduction for a new generation of fans.
