Sea Star Festival returns to Umag, Croatia

Set against the dreamy lagoon backdrop of Umag, Croatia, Sea Star Festival kicked off the 2025 season with a vibrant start. The early-season chill in the air didn’t stand a chance against the crowd’s energy, as people danced, sang, and stayed fully present from the first beats to the very last throughout the evening. Whether it was local favourites or international headliners taking the stage, the audience showed up with the same enthusiasm and excitement.

Balkan talent played a huge part in shaping the night’s mood. Artists like Voyage and Senidah pulled fans in closer, their performances — with crowd favourites like “Tajne U Ogledalu” and “Miši?i” — held the crowd’s full attention. But what was so special about Sea Star is that the night didn’t stick to just one vibe. The genre palette remained diverse throughout, ranging from high-energy rap to alternative pop, creating a dynamic and evolving soundscape that kept things fresh and unpredictable.

Eurovision lovers had quite the reason to cheer, as Estonia’s wildcard Tommy Cash brought his trademark chaos to the main stage — with a mind-blowing performance of Espresso Macchiato — putting on a show that was bizarre and impossible to look away from in the best way possible. He pushed the energy to new heights and left a buzzing crowd behind. And just when you thought things couldn’t get any more intense, Sweden’s Loreen stepped in and completely shifted the energy. The two-time Eurovision winner delivered a set that was pure magic — powerful, raw, and emotionally charged. With songs like Tattoo and Euphoria,” she didn’t just perform, but she created a space where people could feel something real and authentic. That deep connection is part of what makes her so unforgettable, and so deeply loved.

Sea Star Festival might be one of the first festivals on the calendar, but it’s already making a name for itself. With its stunning seaside location, genre-blending lineup, and undeniable sense of community, it was the perfect way to launch into the summer ahead.
