Lainey Wilson, who last fall released her latest album Whirlwind, and has now released a new single “Somewhere over Laredo,” which, in hours after its release, is being praised as another top hit for the award-winning female country artist. Lainey Wilson has been truly making a name for herself in county music with multiple country awards and taking up acting in the well-known TV show “Yellowstone.” She still found the time to crank out a new song and is rocking her fans.  

“Somewhere over Laredo” showcases Wilson’s poignant storytelling and authentic country sound, as she reflects on past love and pays tribute to small towns across the country.  The song makes you feel like you are sitting on an airplane next to her, and she is speaking out load while looking out the window of the plane, remembering all her past and reflecting on her present life. The dreamy texture of her voice allows you to close your eyes, and you are floating with the words. This is the reason this singer is taking the country music scene by storm.  

Lainey Wilson, a 16-time ACM, nine-time CMA and Grammy Award-winning artist, will be performing her newly release single at the 2025 American Music Awards Monday, May 26, where she has been once again nominated for another award. She is in line to possibly win the “Favorite Female Country Artist.” If she keeps releasing songs like this one, she will be standing at the winner podium more and more.
