MAY 16, 2025 [Portland, OR] — Celebrating a landmark moment in their illustrious career—the 30th anniversary of their debut album DANDYS RULE OK—The Dandy Warhols continue to push boundaries with ROCK REMAKER, an EP featuring powerful, floor-shaking remixes from their acclaimed 2024 album ROCKMAKER, released today (May 16, 2025) via Sunset Blvd. Records.
Leading the EP is the standout track, “The Cross (Night Club Remix),” a fierce reimagining by the renowned electronic duo Night Club that plunges the original deep into a dark, goth-club realm. With pulsating synths and industrial tones, Night Club transforms the song into a midnight anthem reminiscent of a clash between Joy Division and Front 242. “This remix absolutely tears up the dancefloor,” says guitarist/keyboardist Peter G. Holmström. “Night Club perfectly captured the original’s tension and menace—and dialed it up even further.”
ROCK REMAKER
1. Alcohol And Cocainemarijuananicotine (GLOK Remix)
2. The Cross (Night Club Remix)
3. I Will Never Stop Loving You (A Place To Bury Strangers Remix)
4. Root Of All Evil (New Bass Remix)
5. Teutonic Wine (Trentemøller Remix)
Joining Night Club on the remix lineup is a stellar group of forward-thinking artists: Andy Bell of U.K. shoegaze legends Ride (under the moniker GLOK) transforms “Alcohol And Cocainemarijuananicotine” into a hypnotic synth-minimalist mantra; Danish indie/electronic virtuoso Trentemøller reshapes “Teutonic Wine” into a sleek, late-night groove; and celebrated U.K. producer, remixer, and Sabres of Paradise member Jagz Kooner breathes fresh life into “Root Of All Evil,” layering in deep funk courtesy of Melvin Brannon (Dan Reed Network). Also featured is a previously released standout remix of “I Will Never Stop Loving You (feat. Debbie Harry)” by NYC’s noise-rock trailblazers A Place To Bury Strangers, delivering a dense wall of sonic chaos that envelops Harry’s iconic vocals in reverb and distortion.
ROCK REMAKER drops as The Dandy Warhols are deep into their East Coast tour, with stops at legendary venues like The Stone Pony in Asbury Park and Daryl’s House in Pawling, NY. This weekend, the band hits New York City for an unprecedented four-night run, bringing their revitalized sound to life amid the praise for ROCK REMAKER, which featured guest spots from Slash, Frank Black, and Debbie Harry. With fans filling sold-out shows, the band has begun weaving deeper cuts from DANDYS RULE OK into their setlists—a deliberate tribute to the album’s 30th anniversary.
| As The Arts STL describes it, ROCK REMAKER is “a kaleidoscope of sound and style… bursting with infectious and psychedelic vibes,” while The Spill Magazine lauds its sonic growth and “a purposeful focus on guitar riffs rather than just chords and melodies.” Vanyaland summed it up perfectly: “The Dandy Warhols have never been ones to follow the crowd… they set their own standards.” Three decades in, The Dandy Warhols continue to challenge themselves creatively, refusing to lean on nostalgia while still paying homage to their roots. With ROCK REMAKER, they push the ROCKMAKER era even further—offering a glimpse of what lies ahead. The Dandy Warhols lineup includes Courtney Taylor-Taylor (vocals, guitar), Peter G. Holmström (guitar, keyboards), Zia McCabe (keyboard, bass, percussion), and Brent DeBoer (drums, backing vocals). |
