Noise rock band Flooding return with a new single and announce a new EP “object 1”

Kansas City’s Flooding, the trio fronted by Rose Brown, is excited to announce their new EP, object 1, out this summer. To herald the announcement, “your silence is my favorite song” arrives today, exploring the fragility of a self-involved male manipulator with buzzing guitars and haunting vocal delivery from Brown. “Your bleeding heart, my lucky charm,” is casually sung over building but sparse instrumentation as the song heads towards a breaking point.

“Flooding can be extremely personal most of the time, but I like to explore the perspective of narcissistic villain archetypes sometimes, too,” says Rose Brown. “It’s fun to pretend to be a piece of shit male rock idol for 4 minutes.”

With object 1, Flooding infuses pop-forward songwriting into their sound, trading spoken word for melodies and thinking like pop stars when cultivating the energy of their live show.
